Desert Veterinary Group collaborates with the Spay And Neuter of the Desert Society (S.A.N.D.S.) to provide low-cost spay and neuter services to pet owners in Imperial County. Since its establishment as a non-profit in 2010, S.A.N.D.S. has successfully sterilized over 3,500 dogs and cats, preventing the birth of 60,000 unwanted pets. The group works closely with local animal clinics to address the overwhelming number of animals entering shelters, aiming to reduce abandonment and euthanasia rates in the community.
